Skiing holiday hacks for stays with us in February half term!

Skier skiing on the snow with mountains in the background

Staying in February Half Term can be some what off-putting for those wanting to ski, but there are so many reason to book with us for a fun filled week of skiing and activities. Not only do you get a week off cooking and cleaning, you can also take part in all the amazing things La Plagne has to offer as well as the skiing of course.

School holidays are notorious for being much busier on the slopes but we’ve got a few skiing hacks to make things a little easier and cheaper for you!

Make the most of staying in Les Coches, being lower down in La Plagne has its perks! Why not ski local and enjoy the forest runs around the village.

You could enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants either in the village or on the local pistes.

Why not head to the shop and buy you and your family packed lunches? You could prepare them in the chalet before heading out skiing (why not take a piece of fruit from our help yourself fruit bowl!) Or head back to the chalet to eat your sandwiches with a hot chocolate, this is especially great when its very cold outside!

Between 12-2 the restaurants get very busy, you can of course book a table at most places but it can be difficult with children (especially if they are still learning) to get them from one place to another quickly. Why not have an early or late lunch to avoid the crowds!

Save time and money by booking transfers, lift passes, ski hire and ski school with us directly before your holiday. We can take all the stress out of organising this yourself for a smooth and sometimes cheaper experience.

Keep the kids entertained with a mountain of other activities available in La Plagne. Not only can you ski but there is so much to do in the area for children and adults too. Some activities are free such as tobogganing or building a snowman, other activities run by La Plagne including big games and competitions, free mulled wine and nibbles. All of these activities will be available to view once the season opens either in the chalet, via the tourist information or on the Paradiski App. There is also swimming, ice skating and dog sledging for you to try!

Avoid big queues for the lifts that link areas together such as the Arpette in BellePlagne. From around 4pm this lift gets extremely busy as it brings all skiers back to the Les Coches side of the mountain and returning skiers back to Les Arcs. Using the lift a little earlier can help keep you out of a long lift queue, meaning you can ski for longer on the Les Coches side too!

If the weather is really bad out and you can bare the idea of putting your ski gear on you could take a rest day in the chalet. We’ve got plenty of space for you to relax with a book or in front of the TV. You could pop to the jacuzzi with a glass of wine or the sauna. We’ve got a great selection of children’s games and toys too, so a board game session is a great idea to get cosy.

Want to spend some time with just the adults? We can organise a nanny to come in and look after your kids whilst you visit a restaurant or bar to give you some well earnt rest (especially after the stress of watching your kids ski, that deserves a medal!)

We serve children’s dinner before the adults in the chalet to make it a more relaxing experience for you and this means the kids can get a good nights sleep too! This is a great time to unwind with a beer or a glass of wine!
