We all know a chalet holiday is mainly about skiing, but we think that food is just as important too! In all of our chalets you get your Breakfast (continental on Chalet staff days off) afternoon tea, Canapes, cocktails and a 3 course evening meal (5 nights of your holiday.) And a opportunity to try some of the best cheeses found in France with of course our famous cheese speech!
Staying in our chalets means that your meals are pretty much covered and we supply you with unlimited beer and house wine too. Our chalet hosts and chefs work 5 days of your holiday, but rest assured your breakfast and afternoon tea is still covered on their days off. This would be a continental breakfast with plenty of bread, croissants, yoghurt etc. Your chalet host will leave your afternoon tea ready for you to return from skiing. Every chalet is different but on catered days you will be well looked after, our staff are on hand to make your holiday one to remember.
Breakfast – breakfast is usually served early morning to ensure you can get the first lifts. We think having a good breakfast Is just as important in getting out skiing. You can enjoy freshly cooked croissants, bread, jams, yoghurts, fruit, cereals served with juices, coffee, tea. Our chefs will also prepare a hot option on catered mornings, this could be something like a full English or even pancakes! Porridge can also be available for you too.
Whilst you are out skiing we will prepare afternoon tea for you to enjoy when you return. This usually consists of breads, jams and freshly baked cakes! There’s nothing better than coming back to a big slice of lemon drizzle cake! You can light the fire and enjoy a hot drink to warm those toes up! If tea isn’t your thing, you could open a beer and jump in the Hot Tub!
In the early evening our chalet staff will start to prepare for your evening meal. They are always more than happy to help you with any questions or even to light the fire for you. They can help you with restaurant recommendations or even the best runs in La Plagne.
Canapes and cocktails are served on catered nights by your host whilst you put your feet up. This could be salmon and cream cheese toast, marinated olives, duck pate, our chefs will wow you with something to get your taste buds tingling. Our hosts have been well trained on making cocktails to accompany your Canapes too! Beer and wine are also available if cocktails arent your thing!
Time for the main event! Once you are seated at the table our dinner service starts. Throughout dinner bread will be available and our paired wine will start flowing. Our staff will pair the evening wines with their food meaning you will enjoy it even more! We are very keen about wine and before the season starts we do some serious research to find the perfect wines for you to enjoy! If we’re honest we enjoyed them too! There courses await you, starting of course with your starter. This could be something like a steaming soup or a colourful salad, or perhaps spring rolls with hoisin dip. Whatever it is we are sure you’ll enjoy it!
The main course will be served, perhaps with a top up of wine? Our chefs all have proffesional experience and are sure to wip up something delicious. Depending on their speciality this could be a flavoursome curry with nann bread or a traditional bourginon! Our staff are on hand to make your evening meal the best they can. With this In mind, we can cater for a wide variety of allergies or a vegetarian or vegan diet. With this we ask for you to contact us prior to your holiday to ensure we can fully catered for your needs!
Stressed is desserts spelt backwards and you certainly won’t be stressed over our desserts! From chocolate puddings to traditional tart tatin, you could get yourself something beautiful and equally tasty. After all pudding is the best part of dinner right?
After this (if you’ve got room!) we will treat you to some of the best cheese France has to offer. Paired with some grapes, chutney and accompanied by our famous cheese speech. Our chalet hosts know everything you need to know about the cheese of the day!
